    Kwok Pui Lan to Lecture: "Postcolonial Anglicanism and Women’s Ministry and Leadership"

    Join us on campus or online for the Rev. Melissa L. Kean, T'19, Memorial Lecture to be delivered by Dr. Kwok Pui Lan. In her lecture Kwok analyzes the changing demographics and landscape of Anglicanism in a postcolonial world and discusses women’s leadership in mission, churches, theological education, and movements to confront gender-based violence. The live lecture will be held in Hamilton Hall at the Samuel Lloyd Forum on the campus of the University of the South (335 Tennessee Ave. in Sewanee).     Dr. Kwok Pui Lan is a Distinguished Scholar at Episcopal Divinity School and a past president of the American Academy of Religion. She has authored and edited numerous books on Asian and Asian American feminist theology, biblical interpretation, and postcolonial criticism. She is the author of The Anglican Tradition from a Postcolonial Perspective and coeditor of Living Postcolonial Anglicanism and Anglican Women on Church and Mission. She received the Lanfranc Award for Education and Scholarship from the Archbishop of Canterbury in 2021.
