Our 2025-2026 Faculty Lunch & Learn Series continues with Dr. Andrew Thompson presenting:  Ethics for Christians and Other Aliens: The Radical Episcopal Ethics of Scudder, Stringfellow, and Dozier

The lay Episcopal theologians Vida Scudder, William Stringfellow, and Verna Dozier represent a distinctive ethic in US Episcopalianism. Characterized by radical biblicism, subversive anti-institutionalism, and political activism, this ethic offers insights that are sorely needed for today's world. This talk will discuss the contributions of each of these three unique voices, identify unifying themes among them, and suggest some implications of their radical Episcopal ethic for the church today.
